AUSTRALASIAN CORROSION ASSOCIATION - WHO NEEDS IT?

Nearly all organisations are spending greater and greater amounts of money on maintenance and asset management. Local government in particular has moved in this area with changes to accounting procedures (AAS27 eg) driving a lot of the change. With asset management such a strong focus of business, corrosion prevention is critical and it is imperative that we are up to date on available processes to minimise corrosion and treat it effectively when it occurs. While corrosion is but one of the mechanisms of premature ageing of infrastructure, it is probably the dominant one for most. It is therefore critical that association such as the ACA carry out their duties to communicate information and provide a forum for exchange of ideas in an area of vital importance to the community at large. Who needs the ACA? Pretty obvious really.
