DEM analysis of an inclining rigid retaining wall subjected to translation movement mode

DEM simulation is performed to analyze retaining wall's active and passive earth pressure and its distribution as well as the total pressure action point in translation movement mode. The principal earth stress deviates as the movement of retaining wall. In addition, the earth pressure on the back of retaining wall distributes irregularly which is not in accordance with Coulomb's linear distributing assumption.
