Comparison of Silk Structure and Fabric Testing Performance of Ordinary and Puffed Tussah Silk

The ordinary silk was puffed, the morphological structure of puffed silk was changed by testing, long diameter was shorter, short diameter was thicker, and the length to diameter ratio was changed. The properties of ordinary and puffed silk fabric were tested and compared, some performance of puffed silk fabric improved, means that the puffing treatment of Tussah silk is a useful way which can improve the performance of fabric and develop the silk product. The morphological structure of Tussah silk fabric can be changed to improve its properties, further expand its application and facilitate the use of our Tussah resources. Previous related studies include: the fiber morphology and properties after treated with different concentrations of additives and its internal relations; the analysis of micro-structure of Tussah fiber after plasma treatment and the fabric strength loss after plasma processing; Sun Dengfeng and other experts has researched the internal morphology and structure of physical puffing Tussah, and drawn some conclusions of the study, but the combination of fabric for more performance testing and analysis has been reported. This paper aimed the structure of silk and the properties of fabric after pure physical method puffing Tussah cocoon, give a few suggestions or additions for the silk fabric design, development and application.
