In this paper, the formula of the sizing agent for chopped glass fiber reinforced polypropylene (PP) was designed. Through evaluating properties of different sizing formulas, the suitable formula of the sizing, which includes film-forming agent, coupling agent, lubricants and moisturizing agent, etc., was selected. The sizing performance was characterized by testing the properties of chopped glass fiber strand and the mechanical properties of composite. Results showed that the mechanical property of chopped glass fiber reinforced PP composite could been obviously improved by using the optimal sizing agent formulation. The tensile strength, flexural strength and impact strength reached 72.13 MPa, 98.51 MPa and 7.47 kJ/m~2, respectively.
