Preface of the 'Symposium on Statistics and Modeling IV'

This preface summarizes the Statistics and Modeling Session IV. In many problems in industry, applied sciences we have available small, as well as large samples that need to be analyzed and summarized in order to extract relevant information. In our invited session statistics and modeling IV, we address some of the recent developments.
