The prosthetic laryngoplasty procedure is more difficult in draft horses. Laryngeal hemiplegia (LH) in draft horses shares many of thecharacteristics of the condition seen in other breeds. It is an idiopathic, principally left sided condition resulting in exercise intolerance, and respiratory noise. Due to their increased size and intended uses, there are differences that the practitioner needs to be aware of when working on draft horses.
