117 patients were examined and database was reviewed. 82 children and 35 adults were divided into four groups. Posterior tympanotomy was performed in all cases. Fourteen patients were implanted with Nucleus-22, eighty six with Nucleus-24, eleven with Med-El combi 40 and 6with Advanced Bionics. There were (6%) major and (19%) minor complications. Three adult patients were surgically explanted .Four patients were re-implanted because of electrode migration. No complications during the last seven years Abnormal rotated cochlear should be suspected in difficult implantation. There is a clear learning curve for the surgeons in our program. There was no increase incidence of otitis meda in the implanted children and no meningitis cases.
