We propose a non-perturbative renormalization group method to investigate the dynamical chiral symmetry breaking in general gauge theories. We setup the effective interaction space to contain all possible 4-fermi interactions allowed by the exact chiral symmetry with Nf flavours. The renormalization group beta functions are calculated without assuming the large-N1 or large-Nc dominance. We solve the renormalization group equation with a small bare mass operator and directly evaluate the induced chiral condensate and the effective mass. We study Nf- and Nc-dependence of the chiral breaking scale including the case having the infrared fixed point for the gauge coupling constant. Also we extend our method to the finite temperature case and obtain the critical temperature of the chiral symmetry restoration.
