The properties of phenolic fiber were measured and analyzed including basic property such as fineness, static electricity, moisture regain, strength and frictional factor, heat stability, TG and tenacity at low temperature. The 3/1 single-layer and 2/2 twill double-layer phenolic fabric were designed and woven. The basic properties and heat insulation property of the fabric were measured. It was concluded that phenolic fibers began to decompose at 300t indicating its excellent thermal stability. Phenolic fiber has better tenacity at low temperature of 20°C -60°C The heat insulation property of single-layer fabric is better than that of double-layer fabric.
