Study on the determination and classification of the causes that determine the faulty operation of a vehicle fuel pump

In the practice of organizations, we notice the existence of a problem which influences the operating parameters of a product negatively and it has to be very accurately identified and proposals have to be drawn-up in order to remove it. This paper presents a method for assessing the quality of a product by applying one of the classic instruments of quality management. A fault occurred in vehicles is studied, revealing its causes. All the main identified causes are described. For every main cause, the other secondary factors are identified. A cause-effect diagram is made (ISHIKAWA diagram) in a new form consisting of two Ishikawa diagrams. The new resulting diagram was called in this paper the 2xIshikawa diagram. It reveals the advantages of applying this method for repairing the negative problem studied.
