Thermosets based on cyanate esters and their modifications with other compounds attract increasing attention due to their excellent performance especially with respect to fire retardancy, mechanical strength, glass transition temperature (T_g) and recyclability. These properties of cyanate-ester-based polymers, including new hybrid resins with polysilazanes make them preferential candidates as structural materials for high-temperature appli-cations in aerospace as well as precursors for ceramics.
