Given the array of devices now available to users, how can one make sense of the evolution of user-side mobility? The purpose of this paper is to revisit mobility from a user-centric perspective. We use a mixed methods approach based on action research and case studies. We find that mobility's pervasiveness leads to changes in habits that have a profound effect on devices and business models. We conclude by looking into possible directions for new advances in light of the present research and recent trends in the IT industry.
