Evidence-based clinical studies in humans suggest the following: 1.EAA supplementation in young adults is effective at increasing muscle mass following resistance exercise. Nutritional interventions during rehabilitation may be an effective treatment for restoring muscle mass following instances when muscle loss occurs (surgery, trauma, cancer survivors, bed rest, casting, etc). 1.A “high-quality” protein diet is effective at improving the muscle protein anabolic response acutely and seems likely to increase muscle mass chronically. 1.One potential nutritional strategy for the elderly is a diet sufficient in quality and content of protein at each meal throughout the day. Increase in physical activity improves feeding response.
