Product Tracking Using Vision and RFID Applications

Product tracking provides real tangible benefits to any operation's bottom line. The ability to trace the product through the mill provides an important feedback system to operators and provides an opportunity to intercept issues at an early stage (e.g. Reduced quality, poorly performing machine centers, incorrect machine settings, flow impediments, etc..,). These problems can be corrected before there is a significant impact on the bottom line. With early correction of detected problems, the overall productivity is generally increased by elimination of re-work or additional handling of material. Overall quality of the product is maintained with a tight tolerance, resulting in satisfied customers and overall benefit to the operation.
