Additive manufacturing includes a considerable number of technologies that produce three-dimensional objects of complex shape directly from their CAD model. At the present paper the Selective Laser Melting (SLM) process will be studied that consists of repetitive cycles of materials layer deposition, fusion and solidification [1]. Currently, mainly metallic materials are used to be fully molten in order to manufacture approximately 100% dense parts [2]. The latest development of the SLM technique over the past several years shows that the fields of application are enlarged from prototyping to the production of end-use parts for medicine, dentistry, tooling etc.[3]-[6]. It is considered that the technology will be even more used in industry when several problems linked to reliability and repeatability of the process will be solved. For this, the SLM technology should become matured.
