Investigating Facility Anomalies at AEDC

Efforts are ongoing at the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) to revitalize the technical excellence of the workforce.~(1,2) Those efforts include not only enhancing the skills, tools, and knowledge of individual personnel, but also ensuring that these skills are successfully combined to provide the most effective test and evaluation capability. One approach to achieve this goal has been the re-establishment of a focused facility analysis capability to provide technical expertise and tools for integrated facility systems analysis. The Facility Systems Analysis Team (FSAT) provides support for investigation of anomalous facility operations events (facility forensics) and current test activities, as well as long-term facility operations and enhancements at AEDC. The Team can provide rapid response to facility operational issues requiring the application of a broad range of analysis expertise and tools which must be coordinated to ensure the best solution.
