As a developing country with most population, China is faced with developing economy and environmental protection. From the later 1970s, the China’s policies on environmental protection may be divided five stages. However, environmental pollution and ecological degradation in China have become to be severe problems and further impacted national economy and people’s health. The initials phase of the century is the crucial stage for China’s efforts towards improving economic development, intensifying environment conservation, and controlling ecological degradation.
