MATE Inspiration for Innovation (MATE II): The next chapter in the evolution of the MATE international ROV competition - (PPT)
The MATE Center was founded in 1997 with funding from the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program. It is currently funded in part by the NSF grants, industry donations, and SeaMATE store sales. Headquartered at Monterey Peninsula College, MATE is an international partnership of 1,000+ educational institutions, marine industries, and professional societies. MATE's mission is to use marine technology to inspire and challenge students to learn and creatively apply science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to solving real-world problems in a way that strengthens critical thinking, collaboration, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
