Study on constant scallop height tool path generation for freeform surface machining

摘要

This research studies the relationship between incremental depth and step over according to the constant scallop height and inclined slope angle in order to generate the path for freeform surface. Through the simulated experiments and evaluations, it is clear that total machining time and surface quality are mainly dependent on the condition of rough and finish processes in 3-axis machine tool machining with ball-end mill.
