The disconnect between theory and practice of management in China

摘要

Academics often fail to guide managerial practice or to solve practical problems. Even more seriously speaking, most researchers lost their customer and go to “publish or perish” because the rigor of management research is attached too much importance instead of the relevance to practice. In the Chinese academia, the problem is more serious. This paper defines the disconnect between the theory and practice of management in different perspectives, finding out the reasons and solutions for that in the case of China.
