Enlightenment from public choice theory on Chinese governmental administration

摘要

Public choice theory is a modern cross-edged discipline that appeared in the US several decades ago, it researches on political process and political participates by means of economics tools. It has provided important theoretical basis for western countries governmental reform. Many ideas of public choice theory are also helpful for improvement of government administration system and enhancement of efficiency of public administration in China. In accordance with public choice theory, we should strengthen building of legal system in government management and improve democratic centralism, and we should also take greater efforts in fighting against corruption by means of system innovation and coordinate public interest with individual interest, and furthermore, we should use competition mechanism to rise efficiency of government conducts and apply market mechanism to limit the endless enlargement of the scale of government organizations and budgets.
