EU AND NATIONAL POLICIES AND PROGRAMMES OFFSHORE start in 2009 - current legal conditions and political support in Germany

Electricity from offshore wind turbines will contribute an important part to future energy supply. To get better information on offshore conditions and to enhance research on marine fauna and flora, the research project FINO was started. On three research platforms in the North and Baltic Sea extensive research is carried out. Important findings expected, needed for technical and environmental evaluation of offshore technology.
