On the Cosserat-type Constitutive Equations in the Theory of Thin-Walled Structures

The aim of this paper is the investigation of the constitutive equations of the Cosserat-type thin-walled structures, i.e. Cosserat-type plates and shells. First we consider the linear viscoelastic micropolar continuum. Then using the correspondence principle between the boundary value problems for Laplace mapping of solutions for viscoelastic solid and the boundary value problems for elastic material we extend the procedure of construction of constitutive equations of the micropolar or 6-parametric shell and plate model. As an example the constitutive equations of plates and shells made of viscoelastic foam are discussed.
