摘要

With the continuous rise in the population and the standard of living of people around the world, the demand for energy is soaring. Deriving energy from fossil fuels cannot be sustained in the future as the availability of fossil fuels is limited. Hence there is a worldwide attempt to develop other renewable sources of energy. Further, among the various fuels, hydrogen is the most environment friendly fuel attributed to the benign byproduct of its combustion, water. Deriving hydrogen from a renewable source like water using solar energy will be the ideal solution to the demand for energy. One more problem which has been the priority as that of the energy demand is the environmental pollution. Efforts were also made for the removal of pollutants using renewable energy sources.
