TRANSVERSE SCHOTTKY NOISE AND BEAM TRANSFER FUNCTIONS WITH SPACE CHARGE

Transverse beam transfer functions (BTFs) and Schottky bands of ion beams with high phase space density were measured in the heavy ion synchrotron SIS18 with coasting ~(40)Ar~(18+) beams. A deformation of the BTFs and Schottky signals was found and compared to a linear space-charge model.
