摘要

Finite element simulation based on linear models and analysis of bearing capacity of a cooling tower is presented in this paper. Two sets of actual imperfections are used. Results of simulations for both sets are compared and discussed. The research shows that small imperfections change only meridian forces of the structure. Buckling modes and other stress resultants stay unchanged. Some bearing capacity shortage was noticed only in hoop direction which was not a result of imperfections.
