The objective of this study was to explore the physical and mechanical properties of three types of birch (Betula sp) with phenol glue of 9 veneers: ordinary plywood (OP), moisture-resistant plywood (MRP) and water-resistant plywood (WRP), as well as their dependence on moisture content. The studied properties were modulus of elasticity in bending (MOE), bending strength (BS) of plywood, shear strength of bonded joint (SSBJ) and Janka hardness (JH), which were tested according to the European Standards (EN). Comparison of different types of plywood showed that with increasing moisture content the strength properties of OR decreased significantly faster than the strength properties of MRP and WRP.
