Similar to Electric Chip Detector, but with built-in or remote/centralised capacitive discharge Power Module. When chip gap is bridged by metal particles, capacitor will discharge and current flows over the conductive bridge. Discharge can be triggered manually or automatically. Depending on the programmed current setting, small particles will be displaced, bigger particles will resist and remain on the sensor, setting the alarm. Latest Zapper systems software controlled are very flexible. In combination, pulse & chip gap dimension, one can easily define a threshold for critical particle size. All particles Larger than critical size will set an alarm. Multiple pulse options of increasing power, to determine chip clear current and hence size of debris.
