Resonance is one of the most destructive phenomenon in rotating equipments that can cause irreversible problems on machines and plants and also considerable maintenance costs. In this case-study we are discussing about resonance problem in a blower for boiler utility section, which is discovered by analyzing FFT spectrum and Coast Down plot through the condition monitoring schedule. Then reinforcing the equipment's structure in order to shift the system's natural frequency to a suitable one to eliminate the problem. Reanalyzing the FFTs and Coast Down plot assure us that the problem is solved.
