Motivation for a bus operator: provision of attractive and sustainable public transport as a declared company goal. Integrate the different single measure into one holistic sustainability strategy for the future structuring of the operators bus fleet. Time horizon 2025 (assuming 10-15 years of bus operation). Include complete life cycle of the transport system bus. By quantification of the specific environmental and economic profiles of different fleet composition (status quo and future scenarios) scientific sound answer to the question of the most feasible fuel/propulsion system for a given city/community considering environmental (global & local) and economic aspects. Regular updating to incorporate changing boundary conditions (e.g. Emission standards, fuel & propulsion technologies).
