Bifurcation of Heteroclinic to Homoclinic Connection of Static Fluxon in S/F/S Long Josephson Junction

It was demonstrated by Sellier et al [Phys. Rev. Lett. 92 257005 (2004)] that the dynamics of fluxon in a Superconductor/Ferromagnetic/Superconductor Long Josephson Junction is affected by the second harmonic Josephson current. It was observed the existence of half-integer Shapiro's steps in the current-voltage relation at certain critical temperature which is related to the 0- to π-state crossover. We discuss in this report the existence of a specific bifurcation process of static fluxon at the corresponding crossover. Based on dynamical system approach we show the bifurcation of heteroclinic to homoclinic connection which is related to the change of kink-fluxon into bright-fluxon.
