Probing the Absolute Density of the Matter with the Oscillation of Supernova Neutrinos

The oscillation of low energy neutrinos (Solar and Supernova) in matter can serve as a powerful tool in revealing informations about the traveled matter. Of a particular interest is its ability to reveal the exact positions of the density jumps, and most importantly, probe the absolute density of the matter which was gone through. In this work, we will show how this can be achieved by performing a study that is based on an analytic formula that describes the Earth's matter effects on the Supernova neutrinos oscillation. Although it is limited to small distances traveled by the neutrinos through matter, it is still of a great significance.
