摘要

A bas-relief generation algorithm is proposed in terms of differential coordinate representation of triangle mesh. The algorithm takes the advantage of mesh surface of 3D object as input. Firstly, the silhouette and visible mesh model are checked according to the advantage point. Subsequently, the mesh is represented as differential coordinate and edited which is used for height compress of model. At last, the bas-relief is generated by absolute coordinate reconstruction and the detail enhancement. The experiments of this algorithm demonstrate that fine details are retained while the bas-relief is flat adequately. For applications, various vivid 3D constructions could be used for bas-relief design by this algorithm.
