EVALUATION OF CONTENTS OF THE URANIUM SERIES RADIONUCLIDES IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL MEDIA AND LOCAL FOODS AT THE RESIDENTIAL AREA CLOSE TO THE RUSSIAN URANIUM MINE FACILITY

摘要

Radionuclide contents of the uranium series has been analyzed in the environmental media and local foods at the area of Octyabrsky village, located within the health protection zone of the Priargunsky mining and chemical facility. It has been shown that the radionuclide specific activity in foodstuffs grown within Octyabrskiy village is 5-10 times higher than in the control region. Radionuclide intakes via foods have been calculated. Effective internal doses for adult residents and for the critical age group have been determined. The resulted data serve as weighty argument to perform remediation at the areas of uranium mines.
