The interaction of Lamb waves with delamination in an 8-ply carbon fiber/epoxy (CF/EP) beam is investigated using a 2-dimensional spectral element method. Three types of delamination, i.e. open delamination located at two ends of the beam and close delamination located at the mid-span of the beam, are analyzed and the reflection and transmission coefficients of the Lamb wave are calculated. It is demonstrated that the reflection at the exit end of the delamination is dominant in magnitude than that from the entrance end. The curves of reflection or transmission coefficient for a close delamination depend on ratio of the delamination length to the wavelength of Lamb wave.
