摘要

Metal recycling is based on material to material loop with no loss of physical properties. Metal is a permanent material as once it is produced it can be kept in the material loop forever. Metal is easily recovered from the household waste stream and is the most recycled material in the world. The higher the recycling rate the lower the CO_2 emissions and weight going to landfill. Recycled material saves up to 74% of the energy for virgin steel and 95% for virgin aluminium.
