Designing a Selective Water Withdrawal Tower for Seismic Forces

The Round Butte Selective Water Withdrawal (SWW) tower is intended to improve water quality and fish passage at the existing Round Butte Project near Madras, Oregon. The selective withdrawal system will allow blending of surface and bottom water to control downstream water temperatures. The system will both exclude fish from the powerhouse turbines and guide fish to a surface collection system within the SWW structures.
