Analysis and Applications of WI-MAX Standard: Forecasting the trends

摘要

This paper analyzes the physical and link layers of the Worldwide for Microwave Interoperability Access (WiMAX) standard. A comparison is performed over Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) and a brief overview over Digital Subscriber Line (DSL). A sight over the physical models of WiFi and WiMAX is performed after a discussion of the parameters that have been employed for the deployment of the WiMAX model. The applications of WiMAX are presented here for discussion and future trends are examined, including an overview of an application of WiMAX in rural areas.
