Mapping accessibility to population or other opportunities can reveal spatio-temporal socio-economic patterns graphically. The use of regular Geographic Information Systems to produce accessibility maps does not provide appropriate flexibility for Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis (ESDA). The hindrance to low-level and disaggregate accessibility mapping, especially by means of ESDA techniques, is poor computation performance (due to the computation overhead of large amount data) that negatively impact exploratory analysis efficiency. This paper introduces a high performance exploratory data analysis solution based on parallel geocomputation technologies to support low-level accessibility mapping and illustrates the advantages of high performance ESDA tools. Integrated high performance ESDA tools are demonstrated to enable easy-to-use and highly interactive accessibility analysis.
