SALLACOA CREEK WATERSHED STRUCTURE NO. 77 SINKHOLEINVESTIGATION, GORDON COUNTY, GA

The Sallacoa Creek Area Watershed Structure #77 is a Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) high hazard flood control dam located on Lick Creek in Gordon County, Georgia, approximately 2 miles north-northeast of the town of Ranger (Figure 1.) The structure has a drainage area of 935 acres, effective fill height of 48-ft, and a storage capacity of 431 Acre-ft. The principal spillway for this structure is a 30-inch steel reinforced concrete pipe and a NRCS standard D X 3D reinforced concrete riser with a maximum discharge of 124-cfs. The current hazard classifications of the structure are NRCS-Class C and Georgia Safe Dams-Category I.
