Lorenz system generates the chaotic signal with marked features in both time and frequency domains. Such disadvantages are not benefit for its applications in chaotic masking secure communication. To overcome such defects, this paper introduces a frequency domain truncation method for Lorenz-based chaotic masking secure communication. The main work focuses on the parameter test of this frequency truncation method and the simulations of Lorenz-based chaotic masking secure communication. Therefore we obtain the effects on chaotic synchronous error by different parameters of this method. Finally this paper analyzes the parameter selections for applying such frequency domain truncation method in Lorenz-based chaotic masking secure communication.
