In this paper, the general cognition of the development strategies of colleges and universities is the foundation, such as connotation, characteristics, type and so on. It introduces common methods of development strategies of colleges and universities. Subsequently, it makes preliminary explore on the train of thought in development strategies of Tianjin Polytechnic University by selecting the SWOT analytical method.
