摘要

An electric double-layer capacitor (EDLC) stores electric charge on the interface between electrode and electrolyte. Porous carbon, such as activated carbon, is widely used for commercial EDLC electrodes because its large surface area assures high energy density. However, increasing the surface area of the porous carbon also increases its pore volume; therefore, it is an ineffective way to increase the energy density per unit volume of a carbonaceous electrode.
