One of the urgent tasks of coke production is cleaning of wastewater from phenol. There are a number of technological approaches to solving this problem, of which adsorption method takes a leading place. As sorbents are often used porous carbon material, obtained on the basis of chemically activated carbon. The purpose of this paper-the study of the adsorption of phenol from an aqueous medium with carbon sorbents obtained subbituminous coal chemical activation in the presence of potassium hydroxide at a weight ratio of KOH / coal of 1.0 g/g. Carbon adsorbents obtained from coal deposits in Mongolia Alagtgoo (particle size 0.2-0.5 mm). For study of the adsorption of phenol from aqueous solutions was prepared carbon sorbents of by the three series of samples differing production method alkali coal mixture. Isotherms of adsorption of phenol from aqueous solutions prepared at 20±2°C by the procedure described in [1, 2] . The concentration of the phenol solution was determined by the method [3] based on the reaction of oxidation in an alkaline buffered solution (pH = 10 ± 0,2) by reaction with 4-aminoantipyrine. Adsorption isotherms at different temperatures were determined and modeled with Langmuir, Freundlich The kinetics was fitted with the pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order and intraparticle diffusion models. The intraparticle diffusion model proposed by Weber and Morris is applied to study the adsorption process.
