Considering the commercialization of fuel cell systems, it is crucial to decrease the cost of their platinum-based catalysts by increasing the utilization of catalysts. For this purpose, supported catalysts have attracted much attention. As a support material, porous carbons generally need large pore sizes for the formation of triple-boundary phase, a large surface area for high dispersion of the catalysts, high electrical conductivity for providing electrical pathways, and electrochemical stability for long-term operation. In this regard, ordered mesoporous carbons (OMCs) with large pores offer the advantages of high surface area, tunable pore size, and interconnected pores.
