Dye contaminated wastewaters are important environmental pollutants. If these wastewaters are nixed with aquatic environment without any treatment dyes will accumulate. Colour prohibits the entrance of sunlight and dyes are harmful in micro and macro scale to the aquatic life. An appropriate method for removal of dyes from wastewater is activated carbon adsorption. Activated carbons are usually microporous in nature and have low adsorption capacities for big molecules [1]. Ordered mesoporous carbons with tunable mesopores seem promising materials for the adsorption of big size dye molecules such as methylene blue [2]. In this work ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) was prepared by calcination of silica SBA-15 using LPG as carbon source and chemical vapour deposition technique [3]. The OMC was used in the treatment of M B containing waste water.
