An impulsive control scheme to stabilize nonlinear delay systems with exponential decay rate is presented in this paper. By utilizing different Lyapunov functions and some inequalities, we establish several theorems on the stability of impulsive delay systems and find novel conditions under which impulsively controlled nonlinear delay systems are globally exponentially stable. Then a novel impulsive controller design procedure to globally exponentially stabilize nonlinear delay systems is presented. Finally numerical simulation is given to illustrate feasibility and effectiveness of our method.
