Soils polluted by Chromite Ore Processing Residue (COPR) was sampled as study objects. Modified BCR sequential extraction procedure was adopt to analysis the chemical speciation of hexavalent chromium in the soils from Qingdao Hongxing Chemical Plant. The results show that, more than 80% of the total hexavalent chromium is the weak acid extractive speciation, and the water soluble speciation hexavalent chromium is the main speciation of the total hexavalent chromium, which pose higher risks to environment. Based on the fact that main hexavalent chromium is in the water soluble speciation, water was suggested as soil washing/flushing agent.
