Impact of IPRs Protection on International Technology Diffusion in Developing Countries

The global technology innovation is known to be highly concentrated in a handful of technologically advanced countries. With the evolvement of IPRs protection and TRIPs regime, the strengthening trend of IPRs protection will cause impacts on quantum of technology diffusion and technology increation in developing countries. Some suggestions are put forward in favor of developing countries: an healthy system hammering at intellectual property protection should be enhanced, complementary amendments to IPRs policies should be made in order to minimize the cost and maximize the benefit, more concerted changes aiming at overcoming the added disabilities of the new IPRs regime should be continuously pursued.
