DESIGNING (AL-)SBA-15 CATALYST PELLETS WITH UNIQUE PROPERTIES

In 1992, the discovery of mesoporous molecular sieves opened new possibilities in many areas of chemistry arid material science [1]. Thanks to high surface areas and large pores with narrow pore size distribution, mesoporous molecular sieves attracted much attention as sorption materials, catalysts and catalyst supports [2]. However, only little attention has been paid to industrial aspects of possible commercial applications. Owing to that the powder catalyst cannot be used directly for industrial applications [3], the development of methods for the preparation of extrudates or pellets from mesoporous molecular sieves is desirable.
